Kuwait Towers are three slender towers symbolizing Kuwait's economic resurgence and also world cultural as well as touristic landmark. They were designed by a Swedish architectural firm and inaugurated in 1979. Located on the Arabian Gulf Street in Sharq district, Kuwait City, the towers stand on a promontory extending into the Persian Gulf. The largest of the three rises to a height of 187 meters and has two spheres. The lower sphere houses a water tank, while the upper one contains a revolving observation area, a restaurant, and a café, offering visitors panoramic views of the city. The second tower is 147 meters tall and serves as a water tower. The third tower illuminates the other two with lights and also controls the flow of electricity to the suburbs of Kuwait City. The towers survived the Iraqi invasion in 1990, and still today, they are a symbol of Kuwaiti pride and resilience.
