Getting to Kyoto Imperial Palace

By Train

Take the Karasuma Line to Imadegawa Station. From there, the palace is a 5-10 minute walk west. Alternatively, take the Tozai Line to Marutamachi Station and walk for about 10-15 minutes north.

By Bus

Several city bus services stop near Kyoto Imperial Palace. You can take the numbers 101, 102, 201, 202, and more from Kyoto Station or other parts of the city, and get off at Kyoto Gyoen-mae (for the south gate) or Imadegawa-jingū-michi (for the main gate).

By Bicycle
