Losari Beach Tourism

Type of destination: Beach/Promenade
Ideal visit duration: 1-2 hours
Losari Beach, renowned for its stunning sunsets, is a prime waterfront destination in Makassar on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Stretching for about a kilometer, the beach has undergone a significant transformation over the years, from being a hub for traditional food stalls to becoming a modern promenade with a wide array of facilities. It is a popular gathering place for both locals and tourists, who can be found strolling along the scenic walkway, enjoying the sea breeze, and partaking in various recreational activities. Losari Beach is also known for its culinary scene, particularly the Pisang Epe—pressed grilled bananas—and Pallubasa, a local beef soup. Cultural events and water sports are part of the beach's vibrant life. Despite being called a beach, it's important to note that Losari lacks the typical sandy shores; instead, it offers a paved waterfront with an edge that drops into the sea, making it a unique coastal experience. The recent addition of the floating mosque adds to the charm and attraction of this locale.
