Malino Highlands, located approximately 90 kilometers from Makassar, Indonesia, is a refreshing mountainous retreat famous for its scenic landscapes and cool climate. Situated at an elevation of around 1,050 to 1,500 meters above sea level in the Gowa District, it offers visitors a respite from the heat of the lowlands. The area is known for its lush greenery, with tea plantations stretching across the hills, and pine forests providing a serene backdrop for nature walks and relaxation. The Japanese caves (bunkers built during World War II) and the spectacular Takapala Waterfall are among the popular attractions here. Malino Highlands also hosts colorful flower gardens and strawberry farms, where visitors can pick fresh strawberries. It's a place where local tradition and nature converge, offering a cultural experience alongside natural beauty. Tourists can enjoy various activities such as horse riding, cycling, and even paragliding for the more adventurous. Malino is an ideal spot for those looking to unwind and immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature while experiencing the cultural richness of the region.
It is a beautiful place. One minor thing is the access. Too many big trucks which made road easily damaged. It could be better to built alternative road for the trucks

Short trip with friends
We were took a short trip to Malino and spend 1 night in one of my friend Villa. It is only take 2 hours drive from Makassar City and only about 60 Km from Makassar. You must visit this place when you..
Nice surrounding with a little cafe at the top of the hill. The view is perfect and a good day out if you want to escape makassar. It still takes 2:30 hours to get there (60 km only ) so plan it a bit..
R u tired with traffic, pollutions, mall and other city activities? This is an alternate solution to have adventure weekend.
Went here to have some fresh air and greenery atmosphere,, yes we did! Tea..
