Malhar Tourism

Malhar is a small historical town situated in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, India. It is known for its archeological and cultural heritage as it was a part of various prominent dynasties such as the Mauryas, Satavahanas, and the Sarabhapuriyas. Malhar houses many ancient temples, some of which include the Pataleshwar Kedar Temple and the Devri temple, each featuring architectural styles ranging from the 10th to the 12th century. The town has been an archaeological site, with numerous idols, shrines, inscriptions, coins, and pottery found here from different time periods, telling stories of India's dynamic cultural past. The town is also the subject of research for history enthusiasts and is looked after by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Despite its historical significance, Malhar remains an offbeat location, thus maintaining its tranquil charm and offering visitors an undisturbed peek into the past.
