Museum Angkut, which translates to the Transportation Museum, is a large and comprehensive museum located in Batu, a city in the Malang Regency of East Java, Indonesia. Sprawling over an area of approximately 3.8 hectares, it offers visitors an immersive and educational experience with its extensive collection of transportation vehicles. Opened in March 2014, Museum Angkut showcases more than 300 varieties of traditional to modern transport. Visitors can explore different zones that are stylistically themed to represent various historical periods and geographical locations. Key highlights include the Main Hall, where classic cars are displayed, and thematic areas such as the Gangster Town and European Zone. Besides the impressive array of vehicles, from bicycles and rickshaws to cars and airplanes, the museum is interactive with costume rentals, allowing guests to take pictures in period-specific attire. There is also a floating market and various dining options within the complex, making it a popular family-friendly attraction. Museum is really an understatement of the place!
Expect to spend about 3-4 hours here. There are so many things to do and so many things to see. For a start, it has a very large collection of classic cars, classic motorbikes, planes, and traditional vehicles. Then there are also interactive rides like the Batmobile VR ride, helicopter VR ride (not going up an actual heli) outside the entrance and flight simulations. The place is huge with different themes of countries.. so in addition of seeing cars, it is as if you travel to those countries as well which then have the national/country cars. Great place for whole family.
