Narmada Park, locally known as Taman Narmada, is a historical park located in the West Lombok Regent, not far from the city of Mataram in Lombok, Indonesia. Spanning over 2 square kilometers, this park was created in the late 19th century by the King of Mataram Lombok, Anak Agung Ngurah Karang Asem, as a replica of Rinjani Mountain, which is sacred to the locals. The park serves both as a recreational space and a place of Hindu worship. The centerpiece of Narmada Park is a large artificial lake with a small island in the middle that's intended to represent Segara Anak, the crater lake on Rinjani Mountain. At the centre of the island is a temple, Pura Kalasa, which is still used for religious ceremonies. The park also features lush gardens, fountains, and pools, including one that is believed to provide eternal youth for those who drink from it. There's a museum on-site that showcases historical artifacts for visitors interested in the cultural heritage of Lombok. Narmada Park beautifully integrates natural landscapes with cultural significance, making it an appealing spot for tourists and locals alike.
