Tram: You can take one of the many trams that stop at Markt station. The following tram lines serve this stop: 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15. From the station, it is a short walk to the Old Town Hall.
Bus: Alternatively, you can take bus lines 89, N9 or N10 that stop at the nearby Goethestraße, which is also within walking distance to the Altes Rathaus.
S-Bahn: The S-Bahn (city rapid railway) lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S5X, and S11 all stop at Leipzig Markt station. From there, you can easily reach the Old Town Hall on foot in just a few minutes.
If you are driving to the Old Town Hall, Leipzig has several parking facilities nearby. The closest parking lot is the Marktgalerie Parking or the Parking Lot at Burgplatz. Please note that Leipzig’s city centre is an environmental zone where only cars with a green environmental badge are allowed to enter.
Leipzig is bicycle-friendly with many bike paths. You can use the city's bike-sharing system, Nextbike, to rent a bicycle and navigate your way to the Old Town Hall. There are several bike stations around the city where you can pick up and drop off bicycles.
For international visitors, the nearest airport is Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ). You can take the S-Bahn lines S5 or S5X from the airport to Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) and then switch to one of the tram or S-Bahn lines mentioned above to get to the Old Town Hall.
Leipzig's city center is very pedestrian-friendly. Once you are in the vicinity of the Hauptbahnhof or the Market Square, it is very easy to explore the sites on foot, including the historic and beautiful Altes Rathaus.
