From Manila: The nearest airport to Vigan is the Laoag International Airport. Upon arrival at Laoag, you can hire a car or take a bus to Vigan which is about a 90-minute drive.
Bus: Several bus companies offer trips from Manila to Vigan. The journey takes approximately 8 to 10 hours, and many offer overnight journeys. Once you arrive in Vigan, Plaza Salcedo is just a short walk or tricycle ride away from the bus terminal.
Driving: If you're driving from Manila, take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and connect to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX). Follow the national highways until you reach Ilocos Sur and follow the signs leading to Vigan City.
Within Vigan, you can easily reach Plaza Salcedo on foot, as the city center is highly walkable. For a more authentic experience, you may also choose to ride a "calesa" (horse-drawn carriage), which not only serves as transportation but also offers a historical feel.
Note: Vigan City has also been recognized for its efforts to preserve its Spanish-era streets and structures, making it one of the few Hispanic towns left in the Philippines. When visiting, please respect local regulations and preserve the heritage site for future generations.
