Best Time To Visit Pola Museum Of Art (Hakone) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Pola Museum of Art in Hakone, Japan

The Pola Museum of Art is nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Hakone, making any visit to the museum a delightful experience year-round. However, the best time to visit Pola Museum would arguably be during the autumn months, especially from late October to early December. During this period, you can enjoy the breathtaking autumn foliage that Hakone is famous for, with the museum's vast glass facade offering panoramic views of the surrounding forest awash with red, orange, and yellow leaves. The comfortable temperatures and lower precipitation levels in autumn also make for an ideal climate to explore the museum’s outdoor sculptures and natural trails. Additionally, Hakone’s off-peak season in autumn means fewer tourists, allowing for a more serene and intimate appreciation of the museum's extensive art collection and natural surroundings.

Another excellent time to consider is the spring season, particularly from mid-April to early June. During this period, Hakone experiences a rejuvenating burst of spring colors with cherry blossoms and fresh greenery, creating a stunning backdrop for art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. It's worth noting that, while spring is also a popular season for visitors, including the Golden Week holidays in late April to early May, planning your trip outside these holidays could mean a less crowded experience. Keep an eye out for special exhibitions and seasonal events that the Pola Museum of Art often hosts, which can add an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit.
