To visit Presqu'ile District in Lyon, most travelers will arrive via Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS). After landing, one can take the Rhônexpress tramway which connects the airport to Lyon's Part-Dieu railway station in less than 30 minutes. From there, you can either take a taxi, rent a car, or use public transport such as the bus or metro to reach Presqu'ile District.
Lyon has two main train stations, Lyon Part-Dieu and Lyon Perrache. Both stations have good connections to Presqu'ile District. Lyon Perrache is closer and within walking distance to the south of Presqu'ile, while from Lyon Part-Dieu one can take the metro (line B) to Bellecour Station located in the heart of Presqu'ile.
When driving, Lyons is well connected to French motorways, including the A6 from Paris and the A7 towards Marseille. Once in Lyon, there will be clear signage to direct you toward the city center and specifically to Presqu'ile District. Be aware that parking in the city center can be scarce and is often chargeable.
Lyon boasts an excellent public transport system, including buses, trams, and a metro service. Within Presqu'ile, many attractions are easily accessible by foot, but if you need to use public transportation, the metro lines A and D pass through with stops at Bellecour and Cordeliers.
Alternatively, you can rent a bicycle from the city's bike-sharing scheme, Vélo'v. There are numerous stations where you can pick up and drop off bicycles throughout the city, including several in Presqu'ile District.
Finally, once you are in Presqu'ile, exploring on foot is a great way to enjoy the district's atmosphere, shops, cafes, and cultural sites. The majority of the district's attractions are within easy walking distance of each other.
