The Sangu River, also known as Sangpo or Shankha, is a significant river in South Asia, flowing through the Bandarban District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. It originates in the Arakan Hills of Myanmar and travels about 270 kilometers to the Bay of Bengal, passing through hilly, forested landscapes, which offer some of the most picturesque views in Bangladesh. The river is known for its clear blue waters, especially in the dry season, and it plays a crucial role in the lives of the indigenous communities living along its banks. These communities depend on the river for fishing, transportation, and agriculture. The area surrounding the Sangu River is rich in biodiversity, with lush green hills and an array of flora and fauna. It is a popular spot for adventure tourism; activities such as river cruising, kayaking, and trekking attract many visitors. The river's meandering path through the hilly landscape makes it an ideal location for photography and nature-watching. The Sangu River eventually merges with the Matamuhuri River before emptying into the Bay of Bengal.
