Boga Lake, also known as Bagakain Lake, is a mesmerizing high altitude freshwater lake located in the remote hill district of Bandarban, Bangladesh. Surrounded by dense bamboo groves and thickets of alpine trees, the lake spans about 15 acres. Folklore suggests that the lake was created after a severe earthquake around 2,000 years ago. Its crystal-clear water reflects the surrounding steep rock walls and peaks, while myths abound about its depth and origin, including legends of a submerged city. The lake is a crucial water source for the indigenous communities living nearby, notably the Bawm tribal people. For travelers seeking tranquility or adventure, Boga Lake is a prominent trekking destination offering picturesque landscapes.
