Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple is a revered shrine located in the town of Vemulawada, Siddipet district of Telangana, India. This ancient temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is often referred to as 'Dakshina Kashi' or 'Southern Banaras.' As per the local beliefs, the temple's history dates back to the time of the Chalukya dynasty, around the 9th century A.D. The architectural style of the temple mirrors that of the late Chalukya period, showcasing intricate carvings and a towering structure which is symbolic of the Dravidian style. Devotees believe that Lord Raja Rajeshwara, the presiding deity, has the power to cleanse the sins of the faithful. Apart from Lord Shiva, the temple complex houses shrines dedicated to Sri Rama, Lakshmana, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Saraswathi. The temple precinct is bustling during the holy month of Karthika and Maha Shivaratri, when pilgrims from various parts of India visit to perform rituals and take a holy dip in the temple tank, Dharma Gundam.
