Taltsy Museum is an open-air museum located about 47 kilometers from Irkutsk, near the town of Taltsy in Russia. It is a unique repository of Siberian traditional architecture and culture, situated on the picturesque banks of the Angara River. This architectural-ethnographic museum was founded in 1969, sprawling across an area of 67 hectares, and showcases wooden buildings brought from villages in the regions of Eastern Siberia, some of which date back to the 17th century. The collection includes a variety of structures such as houses, barns, water mills, churches, and shaman's yurts, each representing different aspects of Siberian rural life. Visitors can step back in time and explore the rustic interiors furnished with authentic artifacts that illustrate the lifestyle of Siberia's indigenous peoples, as well as the Russian settlers. Regular cultural programs and folk festivals held at Taltsy Museum enrich the experience, offering a glimpse into the traditions and crafts of the region.
