How To Reach Tashkent (Uzbekistan) In 2026 - 2027

Reaching Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Welcome to the vibrant city of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan! Tashkent is not only the largest city in Central Asia but also a major hub that can easily be reached from various parts of the world. Let's explore the different ways you can arrive in this enchanting city.

By Air

Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport (IATA: TAS) is the main gateway to the country and serves as the primary point of entry for international travelers. The airport is well-connected with major cities around the globe, especially in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Direct flights are available from cities like Moscow, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Seoul, and Dubai, operated by airlines such as Uzbekistan Airways, Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot, Korean Air, and others.

Upon arrival at the airport, visitors can take a taxi, bus, or a recently launched metro line to reach the city center. It is essential to agree on the taxi fare in advance or use an official airport taxi service to avoid overcharging.

By Rail

Central Railway Station Tashkent, also known as Tashkent-Passenger, is another popular entry point for travelers arriving from neighboring countries like Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia. Uzbekistan has an extensive rail network, and high-speed trains such as the Afrosiyob connect Tashkent with cities like Samarkand and Bukhara in a few hours.

By Road

Tashkent is well-connected by road, with buses and taxis operating from neighboring countries. The road network is constantly improving, making cross-border travel relatively smooth. However, it is important to note that borders may have specific visa and entry requirements, so travelers should gather all necessary information before attempting to enter Uzbekistan by road.

Remember to check visa requirements and ensure your passport is valid for the duration of your stay. Welcome to Tashkent and have a wonderful visit!
