Getting to Wataboo Beach
Wataboo Beach is located near the city of Baucau, Timor-Leste's second-largest city. To get to Wataboo Beach from Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, follow the instructions below:
- Air Travel: Currently, there is no direct flight to Baucau since the Baucau Airport is not serving commercial flights. However, you may fly into Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili and continue your journey by land.

By Road:
- Public Transportation: From Dili, you can take a bus or microlet to Baucau. The journey typically takes around 3 to 4 hours. Upon reaching Baucau, you may hire a taxi or a motorbike taxi (locally known as 'ojek') to take you directly to Wataboo Beach.
- Private Vehicle: If you prefer driving, you can rent a car in Dili and drive to Baucau. The distance is about 122 km and the travel time is approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic. Once in Baucau, follow the signs to Wataboo Beach.
Note: Road conditions may vary, and during the rainy season, some roads might be less accessible.
