The Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum, also known as the Seven Cupolas Mausoleum, is a historic cemetery located on the outskirts of Shamakhi, Azerbaijan. Yeddi Gumbaz translates to 'seven domes' in Azerbaijani, reflecting the number of the most prominent tombs within the cemetery. These tombs are the resting place of members of the Shamakhi Khanate's royal families and aristocracy. The mausoleum's history dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries, and despite being partially in ruins, it provides a significant insight into the architecture and customs of that era. Characterized by its dome-shaped markers, the tomark some of the key figures in Shamakhi's history has witnessed numerous earthquakes which have unfortunately damaged some of the domes. The site embodies a serene ambiance, poised on a hill with a panoramic view of the city. The area surrounding Yeddi Gumbaz is pastoral, with sheep grazing and the natural landscape contributing to the mausoleum's peaceful charm. Its historic and cultural value makes it an important part of Azerbaijan's heritage.
