One of the quickest ways to reach Sittwe is by air. Visitors can take a flight from Yangon International Airport to Sittwe Airport (AKY). Once you arrive at Sittwe Airport, you can hire a taxi or take local transport to reach the Ahkyaibdaw Pagoda. The pagoda is located within the city limits and is relatively easy to access.

By Bus

There are long-distance buses available from major cities like Yangon and Mandalay. The journey can be quite long (approximately 14-20 hours from Yangon) but is economical. Once you arrive at the Sittwe bus terminal, you can hire a local tuk-tuk or taxi to get to the pagoda.

By Boat

For a more scenic route, travelers may opt to take a boat from Mrauk U to Sittwe. This is a popular choice amongst tourists, and it allows for an enjoyable journey along the Kaladan River. However, please be advised that boat services may not be available every day; check the schedule in advance. On arrival in Sittwe, you can take a taxi to reach the pagoda.
