Best Time To Visit Al Hashemi Marine Museum (Salmiya) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Al Hashemi Marine Museum, Salmiya, Kuwait

Visiting the Al Hashemi Marine Museum in Salmiya offers a glimpse into the maritime history of Kuwait, which is best enjoyed during the country’s pleasant months. The ideal time to plan your visit is between November to April, when the weather is mild and conducive for exploring. During this period, temperatures range from 12 to 34 degrees Celsius (54 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit), allowing guests to comfortably enjoy not only the indoor exhibits but also the outdoor grandeur of the Al Hashemi II, the centerpiece of the museum which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest wooden dhow ever built. Additionally, Kuwait celebrates many cultural events and festivities in these months, enhancing the overall experience for tourists.

The museum is less appealing during the hot summer months, from May to October, when temperatures soar to an average high of 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit), which may make your visit rather uncomfortable. Thus, scheduling your trip in the cooler months not only ensures a comfortable tour of the museum’s artifacts and ship models but also provides the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities and waterfront dining in Salmiya without the oppressive heat. Remember to check the museum's opening hours and any scheduled holidays before your visit to avoid disappointment, as operating times may vary throughout the year.
