Best Time To Visit Arc De Triomphe (Paris) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Arc de Triomphe in Paris

Visiting the iconic Arc de Triomphe is a highlight for many travelers to Paris. The best time to enjoy this historic monument is typically in the spring (April to June) or fall (September to early November). During these months, the weather in Paris is generally mild and pleasant, perfect for climbing the 284 steps to the top of the arch or enjoying the views from the ground. Additionally, springtime brings blooming flowers and softer light for beautiful photo opportunities, while fall offers the advantage of fewer tourists and a backdrop of autumn leaves.

If you prefer a more festive atmosphere or don't mind braving the crowds, another excellent time to visit is during national celebrations. One prominent event is Bastille Day (July 14) when a magnificent military parade marches down the Champs-Élysées, right by the Arc de Triomphe. Remember that this period, along with summer (June to August), is peak tourist season, resulting in longer lines and wait times. Visiting either early in the morning or later in the evening can help avoid some of the crowds, and witnessing the skyline at sunset from the top of the arch is particularly stunning.
