However, over the years, the lake has dried up due to overexploitation of resources, and the negligence of conservation efforts. What remains now is a dried bed with segments of land partitioned by the remaining puddles of water. The lake could be seen surrounded by resorts and eateries that once capitalized on the lake's allure. Authorities have been contemplating reviving the lake's glory through rainwater harvesting and other methods to replenish the water body. Despite the lake’s current state, the area around Badkhal Lake still attracts visitors for its hilly backdrop and the activities that the surrounding region offers.

Lake once full of water has now dried up totally

A huge water body for a nice picnic and relaxing
This lake was created about fifty years ago. There were pond and they were expanded. Now it is a full fledged tourist destination with staying facility and nice restaurant.
