Badkhal Lake was once a popular natural lake situated in Faridabad, Haryana, India. Encompassed by the rolling Aravalli hills, the lake was known for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment. Spread over a considerable area, it was an ideal spot for picnics, boating, and weekend getaways for both locals and tourists from nearby cities. However, over the years, the lake has dried up due to overexploitation of resources, and the negligence of conservation efforts. What remains now is a dried bed with segments of land partitioned by the remaining puddles of water. The lake could be seen surrounded by resorts and eateries that once capitalized on the lake's allure. Authorities have been contemplating reviving the lake's glory through rainwater harvesting and other methods to replenish the water body. Despite the lake’s current state, the area around Badkhal Lake still attracts visitors for its hilly backdrop and the activities that the surrounding region offers.
