AksharaBhyasam at Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam
We traveled from Hyderabad to Basar for the purpose of Akshara Bhyasam for my daughter. The experience went very well, but I felt that the ticket price was too high. Everything else was positive, and we didn't encounter any issues. However, it's important to be well-prepared for your trip to Basar to avoid any problems with waiting in line, dealing with crowds, and finding food. We visited on a Saturday, and the crowd was huge. The Akshara Bhyasam took place at 7:30 AM in the first batch and lasted for about 30 minutes. The ticket price was 1000/-. I strongly recommend going in the first batch to avoid long waiting times. For Pooja, You don't need to bring anything from home to the temple as everything is available on the temple premises. To ensure our participation in the first batch, we arrived in Basar a day before and stayed overnight at a hotel. There are two types of tickets available: 150/- for a pooja inside the temple but not in the main mandapam. 1000/- for a pooja inside the main mandapam in front of Goddess Saraswathi. Please note that this ticket does not include any pooja items; it is solely for the pooja itself. The cost is quite high. You can purchase the pooja kit at the temple premises. During the ceremony, the Poojari remains in one place and recites mantras through a microphone. We simply need to follow his instructions. After the pooja, we took our baby to him, and he completed the Akshara Bhyasam by writing "Om Namah Shivaya" while holding our baby's hand. Note: Don't miss out on the prasadam. The Pulihora and Laddu are excellent. Regarding food, I suggest eating only Pulihora :) OR carry food, as there are some tiffin shops opposite the temple but not good. Apart from that, there are no other hotels available even you go 30 KM as well.

Good for aksharabyasam
Very nice Saraswati and Lakshmi Mata temple. Very famous for kids aksharabasyam . Tickets issuing counter opens at 0720 AM and first batch is around 0745 AM ( officially 730AM). You can expect waiting que unless you are in que by 7 AM. As many are reviewed there is nothing more that. Photography is cumbersome batter to take prints afternoon as only one computer is there to select and print. Charges are 100 rupees per print. Absolutely high rate for ink jet printed photo!

Can visit once..!
Only Saraswati temple in Telangana. The temple is not so big and we can finish our Darsha in max one hour. AksharaBhyasam: Ticket cost: Rs.1000(infant of Garbha guide mandir, this includes Darshan inside the mandir for parents and child, and one laddoo.) Rs. 100(in mandap separately) Puja Items: 2 garlands(one for goddess one for Child), five types of fruits, Slate set(Available around the premises). Time for puja: Half an hour. In and around places: Sarasawati Mandir, Datratreya Mandir, Godavari swan half a km away from temple. Counters for laddoo and pulihora are available separately. Overall Exp: It's a good experience with less crowd but very very commercial when compared to other temples like Tirupati/ Shirdi/ any. Mobiles are not allowed but you get photographed during puja and its available on payment of 100.

A rare Saraswathi Matha temple in South India
A place worth visiting as it is a place for Aksharabyasam located on the banks of river Godavari.It is said that this is a place where Maharshi Vyasa found peace after a penance.He used to place daily an handful of sand from the banks of river Godavari into three parts and the Goddess has appeared from that sand and so the temple has even the deity of mahalaxmi, mahakali besides Vyasa Guha.There is also Yagnashala for Homam and Goshala. Except on festivals most of the time not much rush is there and easy darshan of the Mother is possible. Camera is strictly restricted but there is a provision for deposition of cell phone. There are separate counters for Laddu and Pulihora as prasadam.There is counter for sale of Sarees decorated to the holy Deity.There is separate route to reach the Ghat of river Godavari to offer prayers.
