Blenduk Church, officially known as Gereja Blenduk, is an iconic historical Protestant church located in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Site of Worship for 270 years.
The church dates to 1753, octagonal shaped with a tower either side of the entrance and a large copper clad dome behind. The three porticos are regarded as Roman style. The interior is quite striking with light streaming through the stained-glass windows; Pews, paneling and furnishings showcase the quality of the timber workmanship and skill of the craftsmen. The baroque style organ is an outstanding feature but unfortunately not in working order. The church was rebuilt in 1787, the towers and dome were added in 1894, various renovations during ensuing years with today's structure the result. Noted some vegetation growing from the exterior of the walls, better to remove that face bigger problems in coming years.
