Best Time To Visit Blue Lagoon (Vang Vieng) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Blue Lagoon, Vang Vieng, Laos

The Blue Lagoon in Vang Vieng is an idyllic oasis that draws travelers with its crystal-clear, turquoise waters perfect for swimming and relaxation. The best time to visit the Blue Lagoon in Vang Vieng is during the dry season, which spans from November to March. During these months, the weather is predominantly sunny and warm, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). This pleasant climate makes it an ideal period for not just swimming in the lagoon, but also for enjoying other outdoor activities such as kayaking, caving, and hot air balloon rides that Vang Vieng is famous for.

While the dry season is the most comfortable time weather-wise, travelers looking for a more serene experience should consider visiting during the early months of the season, particularly November and early December. During this period, the tourist crowds have not peaked, and the water levels in the Blue Lagoon are optimal due to the preceding rainy season, making for a more tranquil and picturesque setting. Additionally, the greenery surrounding the lagoon is lush and vibrant due to the recent monsoon, which can make the scenery even more photogenic. However, if you wish to experience the locale's festive atmosphere, visiting around the Lao New Year in April can also be exciting, but expect higher visitor numbers and hotter temperatures.
