Brief Garden is the legendary garden and former residence of the renowned Sri Lankan landscape architect, Bevis Bawa, brother of the famous architect Geoffrey Bawa. Located in Bentota, a coastal town in Sri Lanka, Brief Garden is a mesmerizing attraction that pulls visitors into a tropical world finely crafted with a blend of local and colonial influences. After Bevis Bawa's death in 1992, the garden was opened to the public. Over decades, Bevis transformed what was once a rubber plantation into an enchanting space with winding pathways, secluded corners, and a diverse collection of art and sculptures. The property spans over five acres, featuring a variety of flora, intimate garden rooms, and an old colonial bungalow where Bevis lived, now replete with an impressive collection of artwork and photographs.
