Cantonment Church Tower Tourism

The Cantonment Church Tower is a historical structure situated in Karnal, Haryana, India. This tower is a significant landmark that stands as a solitary sentinel in the heart of the old British Cantonment area. It is the only remaining part of the British military station that once thrived here. The tower dates back to the early 19th century and is indicative of the colonial era's architectural style. Built by the British regiment stationed in Karnal, it originally belonged to an Anglican church that was demolished in 1841 following heavy damage by an earthquake. The tower is approximately 35 meters high and is notable for its stately elegance and the British colonial architectural features it displays. Visitors can observe the remnants of the Gothic style arches and the intricate work that once adorned the original church. Currently, the Cantonment Church Tower stands within the premises of a police training academy and is maintained by the government.
