Welcome to Dhabaleshwar Beach, Berhampur, Odisha

Nestled along the Bay of Bengal, in the Eastern Indian state of Odisha, Dhabaleshwar Beach is a serene and picturesque destination situated close to the bustling city of Berhampur. Known for its shimmering sand, untamed waters, and relatively undisturbed natural setting, this beach offers a tranquil retreat from the cacophony of city life.

A Brief History of Tourism at Dhabaleshwar Beach

Unlike its counterparts, Puri and Gopalpur, which were among the early adopters in Odisha's beach tourism scene, Dhabaleshwar Beach remained under the radar until recent years. Historically, the beach was primarily frequented by locals seeking solace and spiritual experiences at the revered Dhabaleswar Temple, devoted to Lord Shiva.

It was not until the late 20th century that the tourism potential of this locale began to be recognized. Efforts were made to improve accessibility and to provide basic amenities that drew wider audiences to experience Dhabaleshwar's natural splendor. As India's tourism industry began to thrive in the new millennium, the Odisha government too initiated campaigns to put lesser-known destinations like Dhabaleshwar Beach on the tourism map.

Emerging Trends in Tourism at Dhabaleshwar Beach

Recent tourism trends indicate an increasing curiosity and demand for offbeat and ecologically rich destinations among domestic and international travelers.
