The Drass War Memorial, also known as the Kargil War Memorial, is a poignant site located in the town of Drass in the Kargil district of Ladakh, India. It is situated on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D, making it accessible for travelers. This memorial is dedicated to the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who lost their lives during the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan. The memorial is nestled in the foothills of the Tololing Hill and overlooks the strategic Tiger Hill, which were significant battlefields during the war. The site features a huge epitaph with the names of all the martyrs, a museum showcasing the heroics and sacrifices of the Indian Army, and a memorial hall. Visitors are greeted by the sight of the magnificent Tololing Range and are engulfed by a sense of patriotism and gratitude as they walk through the memorial. An eternal flame known as the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' burns in honor of the fallen soldiers.
