Dumboor Lake Tourism

Dumboor Lake is a stunning waterbody located about 120 kilometers from Agartala in the Amarpur Subdivision of Gomati district, Tripura, India. This picturesque lake is shaped like a small tectonic lake, resembling the outline of a 'Drum' or 'Dumboor' in Kokborok language. It spans an area of about 41 square kilometers and boasts a rich ecosystem with 48 islands dotting its expanse. Dumboor Lake is a crucial part of the local eco-system; it serves as a reservoir for the Gumti Hydropower Project and is an important fishery in the region. The surrounding lush greenery creates a tranquil setting, and the water's calm surface reflects the clear sky. The lake is also an important bird area, as it harbors a variety of migratory birds during the winter. For tourists, it is a haven for water sports, boat rides, and offers opportunities for bird watching. Dumboor is a treat for nature lovers and provides a peaceful retreat from the bustling city life.
