To reach Eagle's Nest in the beautiful Hunza Valley of Pakistan, there are several steps involved, typically starting from Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.
Step 1: Take a flight from Islamabad International Airport to Gilgit Airport. These flights are operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and are subject to weather conditions.
Step 2: Once you have reached Gilgit, you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Hunza Valley. The distance from Gilgit to Hunza is approximately 100 kilometers, and the journey takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.
Step 3: After reaching Hunza, continue your journey to Eagle's Nest. It is located near Duikar village, which is about an hour's drive from Karimabad, the main town in Hunza. The road is steep and consists of several bends; it's recommended to hire a local driver familiar with the terrain.
Alternatively, for those who prefer an adventurous road trip, you can opt to drive from Islamabad to Hunza along the Karakoram Highway (KKH), one of the highest paved roads in the world. This journey will take you across beautiful landscapes and can take approximately 14-16 hours.
Once you reach Eagle's Nest, you'll be greeted with some of the most breathtaking views of Hunza Valley and its surrounding peaks. It's a destination well worth the journey.
