Guide to Reaching the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France

By Air

If you are arriving by air, you will most likely enter Paris through Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) or Orly Airport (ORY). From these airports, you can:

  • RER Train: Take the RER B train from CDG to Denfert-Rochereau station, then switch to the RER C train towards Versailles and get off at Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel station.
  • Bus: Use the Le Bus Direct Line 2 for a direct route from both CDG and ORY to the Eiffel Tower.
  • Taxi: Taxis are readily available at both airports and can take you directly to the Eiffel Tower.

By Train

If you are in Europe, you might choose to travel via regional or international trains that stop in Paris:

  • Gare du Nord: This station serves Eurostar trains. Once there, you can take the RER B to Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, then change to the RER C to get to the Eiffel Tower.
  • Gare de Lyon, Gare de l'Est, and others: Use the Paris Metro or RER trains to connect to the RER C line that stops at Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel station.

By Metro

The Paris Metro has several lines that will bring you close to the Eiffel Tower:

  • Line 6: Get off at Bir-Hakeim station, from which you can walk to the Eiffel Tower.
  • Line 8: Exit at École Militaire station, then it's a short walk.
  • Line 9: Stop at Trocadéro station for one of the best views of the Tower before you visit.

By Bus

Buses are a scenic way to reach the Eiffel Tower:

  • Bus 82: Stops at Tour Eiffel or Champ de Mars.
  • Bus 42: Stops at Tour Eiffel.
  • Bus 87: Stops at Champ de Mars.
  • Bus 69: Stops near Champ de Mars.

By Car

Driving in Paris can be challenging due to traffic and parking. However, if you choose to drive:

  • Parking is available in Quai Branly, which is close to the Eiffel Tower, but it's often full, and rates can be high.
  • Consider using a real-time parking app to find available spots.
