Film City is an intriguing attraction located in the heart of the Qatari desert near the city of Dukhan. This replica of a traditional Arabic village was constructed for use in film productions, hence the name 'Film City.' Set amidst the enigmatic Zekreet peninsula, it offers a picturesque setting that has been used as a backdrop for various Arabic films and television series. The site encompasses a collection of buildings structured to mimic an ancient Qatari village, complete with houses, mosques, and even stables, decorated with elements that reflect the local architecture and heritage. Surrounded by the stark desert landscape and unusual rock formations known as the East-West/West-East sculpture by artist Richard Serra, Film City is isolated from modern civilization, which adds to its allure. It is also located near the Mystere D' Dukhan, another popular desert sightseeing spot. Visitors can explore the mock village, experience the traditional architecture, and enjoy the unique desert environment. Please note that reaching Film City may require a 4x4 vehicle due to the unpaved and sandy terrain.
