Hagenbeck Zoo, officially known as Tierpark Hagenbeck, is a zoological garden in Hamburg, Germany. Founded by Carl Hagenbeck in 1907, it is recognized for pioneering the use of open enclosures that emulate natural habitats, without the use of bars and fences to separate animals from visitors. Spanning approximately 25 hectares, the zoo is home to over 1,850 animals from more than 210 species. Hagenbeck Zoo's exhibits include the Tropical Aquarium, Arctic Ocean with walruses and polar bears, and the Eismeer panoramic oceanworld. The park features a unique Panorama tunnel which gives visitors a remarkable view of the marine animals from a diver's perspective. The zoo prides itself on its conservation efforts and breeding programs that contribute to the protection of endangered species. In addition to wildlife observation, the zoo offers educational programs and interactive experiences, making it an attractive destination for families, animal lovers, and conservationists.
