Helix Bridge, officially known as The Helix, is a pedestrian bridge that has become one of the architectural marvels in the Marina Bay area of Singapore. Opened in 2010, it features a unique 'double helix' structure, which is inspired by the shape of DNA, symbolizing life and continuity, renewal and growth. Designed by international team Cox Architecture and Architects 61, the bridge spans a total length of 280 meters, connecting Marina Centre with Marina South. It is fabricated from stainless steel and is fitted with glass and steel canopies that provide shade to walkers during the day and illuminates with lights at night, creating a magnificent sight. Along the bridge, you'll witness four large viewing platforms that offer panoramic views of the Singapore skyline, Marina Bay Sands, and ArtScience Museum. The Helix Bridge is not only a functional infrastructure for pedestrians but also a piece of public art embellished with letters c, g, a, and t, representing the four bases of DNA.
