Hunder Sand Dunes are a unique and fascinating attraction situated in the Hunder Village of the Nubra Valley in Ladakh, India. These dunes are nestled amidst the rugged landscapes of the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges. Situated at an altitude of about 10,000 feet above sea level, Hunder Sand Dunes present an enchanting sight with contrasting lush greenery of the valley on one side and stark barrenness of the Siachen Glacier on the other. The dunes are famous for the Bactrian Camels (double-humped camels), which were initially used as a mode of transport on the Silk Road. The unexpected desert terrain amidst snow-capped mountains offers a surreal experience, and the cold desert climate adds to the unique charm of the place. Visitors can enjoy camel rides, capturing the beautiful landscape, and the serene ambience which is a blend of both nature and history. This site provides an unmatched experience for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.

Actually, the dunes are not impressive it the whole “package†is spectacular
What is impressive is the combination of the mountainous surrounds, the glacial stream, how pouring rain suddenly ceased for our visit, the camels and rides and oh yes those dunes
