By Public Transport: Public transportation in Lebanon is relatively informal. The common modes to reach Jeita Grotto include buses or taxis. From Beirut, you can take a bus or a "service taxi" (shared taxi) heading to Jounieh. You'll need to notify the driver of your destination as there's no official bus stop at the grotto. From Jounieh, you can hire a private taxi to take you to the grotto's entrance.

Hours of Operation

Please note that opening times can vary with the season. Typically, the grotto is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the summer and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the winter. The grotto is closed on Mondays for maintenance, except in July and August.

Exploring the Grotto

Once there, a cable car or a short train ride will take you to the entry of the upper galleries. Here you'll witness a breathtaking collection of stalactites and the infamous "weeping willow" stalactite formation.

The lower galleries showcase imposing stalagmites and are explored by boat on a subterranean lake. Do note that the lower section can be closed during the winter or spring due to high water levels.
