International visitors can fly into Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) in Yerevan, Armenia's capital. From there, the monastery is approximately 60 km north.
Visitors can rent a car, take a taxi, or use public transportation from Yerevan. The journey by car usually takes around 1 hour.
Kecharis Monastery is located in the heart of Tsaghkadzor, and can be reached by foot from most parts of the city. For accommodations far from the site, local taxis are available for short rides within the town.
The monastery is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during spring to autumn (May to October), when the weather is more conducive for sightseeing. Winters can be quite cold and snowy, which may add to travel time.
Once in Tsaghkadzor, visitors can also enjoy the town's skiing facilities, a popular activity in the winter months, and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside during warmer seasons.
