If you are coming from far away, the nearest airport to Kanazawa is the Komatsu Airport. Once you land, you can take a bus that goes directly to Kanazawa Station. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes.
Kanazawa is well-connected by trains. If you are coming from Tokyo, you can take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kanazawa Station. The journey approximately takes 2.5 hours. From Osaka or Kyoto, direct express trains such as the Thunderbird service are available and reach Kanazawa in about 2 to 2.5 hours.
