Khangkhui Cave, also known as Khangkhui Mangsor Cave, is a natural limestone cave located near the village of Khangkhui in Ukhrul district of Manipur, India. This cave holds an immense historical significance and is considered to be an important natural and archaeological site. It is believed that these caves date back to the prehistoric period and served as a shelter for the local people during World War II. The cave is adorned with stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations, creating an otherworldly feel for visitors as they traverse through its chambers. The main cave consists of two chambers known as the King's Chamber and the Queen's Chamber, along with a number of unexplored tunnels and galleries that add to its allure and mystery. The entrance of the cave is marked by a massive archway that leads to the various caverns within. Traditionally, the locals have held the cave in high regard, being woven into the folklore and legends of the indigenous people.

very far
The approaching road is too damaged and travelling on these roads is too tiresome therefore the enjoyment generally gets lost on the roads

Excellent day-trip in Ukhrul district, Manipur, India
We were in Ukhrul for two nights and three days. We were glad we went to the Khangkhui caves on our second day. The road is very, very uneven, but the drive (4x4 vehicle is a must) was worth every bum..
