Located in the city of Jeddah, the King Fahd Fountain, also known as the Jeddah Fountain, is one of the tallest of its kind in the world. Installed along the corniche of Jeddah, it is a dynamic landmark visible from many points in the city. The fountain was donated to the city by King Fahd and has been operational since 1985. It jets water to an impressive height of approximately 260 meters above the Red Sea. The fountain uses seawater, which is drawn from the Red Sea, filtered, and then shot through the nozzle at high speeds. The King Fahd Fountain is exceptionally beautiful during the evening when it is illuminated by over 500 spotlights, which adds a mesmerizing effect to its towering spray. The fountain has become a symbol of Jeddah and is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. It represents the city's affluence and is also a remarkable feat of engineering. Visiting the fountain offers a moment of relaxation while watching the powerful water jet and the beautiful sunsets on the Red Sea horizon.
