Best Time To Visit Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary (Khammam) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary

The ideal time to visit the Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary in Khammam, Telangana, is during the cooler months from October to February. During this period, the weather is most pleasant, with temperatures ranging from a comfortable 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). Wildlife viewings are optimal in the winter months as animals are more likely to be seen in the cooler parts of the day. Additionally, the cool and dry weather is conducive to participating in activities such as bird watching, nature walks, and boating in the Kinnerasani Reservoir. The lush greenery post-monsoon also provides a serene and vibrant environment for photographers and nature enthusiasts.

Visiting outside of the recommended October to February window, especially during the summer months from March to June, can be challenging due to the extreme heat with temperatures soaring up to 40°C (104°F). The monsoon season, from July to September, brings heavy rains that may restrict movement and access to the sanctuary as well as hinder wildlife spotting opportunities. However, if you prefer solitude and are interested in experiencing the forest in its rain-washed splendor, a visit during the monsoon can be a unique experience, bearing in mind the potential for rain-related issues.
