By Air

Travelling by air is the quickest but not the most direct method of reaching Koh Kong. The closest airport is in Trat, Thailand. From Trat Airport, you will need to cross the border at the Cham Yeam Checkpoint and then take a taxi or a bus to Koh Kong Beach.

By Bus

From Phnom Penh: You can take a bus directly to Koh Kong City. Several bus companies operate daily services with the journey taking approximately 5 to 6 hours. Once in Koh Kong City, local taxis or tuk-tuks are available to transfer you to the beach.

From Sihanoukville: Direct buses are also available but are less frequent. The trip lasts around 4 to 5 hours. Similarly, after arriving in Koh Kong City, take a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride to reach the beach.

By Private Vehicle

If you prefer a more comfortable and personal route, hiring a private taxi or renting a car is also an option. The drive from Phnom Penh takes approximately 5 hours along National Road 4 and then National Road 48, straight to Koh Kong City. From there, Koh Kong Beach is just a short distance away.

By Motorbike

For the adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike and driving to Koh Kong can offer an exciting experience. Make sure you're comfortable with long-distance travel and carry the necessary paperwork, including an international driving permit.

Crossing the Border from Thailand

If you're coming from Thailand, cross the border at the Hat Lek (Thailand) - Cham Yeam (Cambodia) checkpoint. After clearing immigration, take a taxi or motorbike taxi to Koh Kong City, and subsequently to Koh Kong Beach.
