The Krasnoyarsk Hydro Power Station, located on the Yenisei River in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, is one of the country's largest power-producing facilities. Inaugurated in 1967, this iconic hydroelectric station is recognized by its enormous dam, measuring 124 meters high and 1,065 meters long, and is a significant contributor to the Siberian power grid. The dam creates the Krasnoyarsk Reservoir, which, at around 2,000 square kilometers, serves as a large water reserve and is used for downstream regulation. The power station is equipped with twelve hydro turbines, each turbine is capable of producing 500 MW, totaling a capacity of 6,000 MW. The facility's architecture includes a remarkable spillway and an arch-gravity structure, notable for its engineering significance. The Krasnoyarsk Dam is also a key navigational structure in the region, featuring a ship lift capable of bypassing the dam for river traffic. As an essential element of the Siberian energy infrastructure, it also plays a vital role in flood control.
