Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel Tourism

Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel is a famous historical site located in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Perched atop Karaulnaya Hill, it offers panoramic views of the city and the Yenisei River. Constructed in 1855, on the site of a former wooden chapel, it was built to honor Paraskeva Friday, a patron saint of trade. This elegant structure, showcasing classical Russian architecture with its traditional onion dome, has become an iconic symbol of Krasnoyarsk. Despite its modest size, the chapel has significant cultural and historical importance and was even featured on the 10-ruble banknote. The site is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, who come to soak in the spiritual atmosphere, enjoy the scenic outlook, and delve into the region's rich past. Visitors often leave coins at the chapel's base for good luck. It's also a starting point for hikes to the top of the hill, where one can embrace the full beauty of the Siberian landscape.
