Best Time To Visit Lawbah Cave (Mawsynram) In 2026 - 2027

Lawbah Cave Tourism Season

When planning a visit to Lawbah Cave in Mawsynram, which is known to be one of the wettest places on Earth, timing becomes paramount. The best time to visit this mesmerizing cave is during the dry season, which usually spans from late November to early March. During these months, the rainfall is significantly lower, making cave exploration safe and more enjoyable. The reduced levels of rain also mean that the water levels inside the cave recede, providing better access to the various chambers and natural formations.

It's notable that Mawsynram experiences a heavy monsoon season from June to September, which can render caving activities dangerous due to flooding and slippery conditions. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid planning your trip during these times. Furthermore, the winter months bring clearer skies and cooler weather, which not only ensures a comfortable visit to Lawbah Cave but also enhances the overall experience of exploring the lush green landscapes of Meghalaya surrounding the cave.
