The Leaning Temple of Huma, located near Sambalpur in the state of Odisha, India, is a unique and lesser-known architectural marvel dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. Situated on the banks of the Mahanadi River, this temple is famously known for its structure, which leans at an angle. Unlike the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the reason behind the lean of this temple is not definitively known, though it is speculated to be due to the geological conditions of the area. The temple complex consists of several other shrines, including that of Bhairavi, the consort of Lord Shiva. It was believed to be constructed in the 17th century by Maharaja Baliar Singh, the fifth King of the Chauhan dynasty of Sambalpur. Devotees flock to this temple not only for its tilted structure but also for its religious significance. The leaning design is not considered an architectural error but rather a purposeful build by the craftsmen of the time, which adds to the temple's mystery and allure.
