Best Time To Visit Liuhe Night Market (Kaohsiung) In 2026 - 2027

When to Visit Liuhe Night Market in Kaohsiung

The best time to visit Liuhe Night Market in Kaohsiung is during the dry season, roughly from November to April. This period typically offers the most comfortable weather conditions, with lower probabilities of rainfall and relatively moderate temperatures. Visiting during the evening hours, specifically from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, allows you to experience the market at its most vibrant, when all the stalls are open and the atmosphere is most lively. Weekends can be particularly bustling, as both locals and tourists flock to the market, so if you prefer a less crowded experience, a weekday visit might be preferable.

Additionally, the cooler evenings of the winter months, notably from December to February, make for an especially pleasant visit. During these months, the weather is cool enough to enjoy the hot and freshly prepared street food that Liuhe Night Market is famous for without feeling uncomfortable. Keep in mind, however, that Taiwanese holidays such as the Lunar New Year can either be a unique time to experience local festivities or a period to avoid due to large crowds and potential closure of some stalls. It's best to check the local calendar and plan accordingly to ensure that your visit coincides with the kind of experience you’re seeking.
