Best Time to Visit Marine Aquarium and Research Centre (MARC), Digha

Digha, a coastal town in West Bengal, India, is a destination that carries a mix of serene beaches and vibrant marine life. The Marine Aquarium and Research Centre (MARC) is one of the most intriguing attractions in this area. The best time to visit MARC is generally during the winter months, from October to February. During this period, the weather in Digha is pleasant – not too hot and not too cold – making it ideal for tourists to explore the aquarium comfortably and witness the diverse marine species on display. The humidity levels are comparatively lower, and the clear sunny days provide perfect lighting to enhance your experience at the aquarium.

Visitors may also choose to visit during the early summer months of March and April, when the temperatures are beginning to rise but still remain within a tolerable range. However, visiting MARC during the monsoon season or the peak of summer – from late May to September – is less advisable due to heavy rainfall, high humidity, and extreme heat, which could affect travel plans and hinder the overall experience. Regardless of the season, MARC is open throughout the year, and sights like the large marine biodiversity, including regional fish species and exotic marine life, are a constant allure for marine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Be sure to check the timings before your visit to ensure that you can make the most out of your trip.
