By Air

If you are traveling from afar, the most convenient way to reach Savannakhet is to fly into Savannakhet Airport (ZVK). There are domestic flights available from the Laotian capital Vientiane (Wattay International Airport) and from Pakse. International flights from neighboring countries such as Thailand may also be available. Upon arrival at the airport, you can hire a taxi or tuk-tuk to take you directly to the riverfront.

By Bus

Lao has an extensive bus network connecting major towns and cities. You can board a bus from Vientiane, Pakse, or other major cities to Savannakhet Bus Station. From there, you can take a short ride via taxi, tuk-tuk, or even a motorbike taxi to reach the Mekong Riverfront.
